The Club organizes 3 social mix-ins each week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Every Thursday there will be a ‘Welcoming Member’ on duty who will arrange your matches for you. A mix-in can be any combination of players of any sex playing one short set. Mix-ins continue throughout the winter but there may not be a welcoming member present on Tuesdays and Sundays - just turn up and play.
On Tuesday and Thursday evenings the bar is open from 7.00pm to 11.00p and on Sunday a tea is available during the afternoon.
The Club organizes a Knock-Out Closed Competition from April to July each year which includes singles, doubles, mixed and handicap events. Club finals day is normally held in mid-July.
A competitive Mixed Singles League operates between October and February.
All these events are displayed and advertised via the notice board or for further details please contact the Club Office by telephone or e-mail: twltc@twltc.plus.com
Throughout the year the Club runs Ladies Doubles Box Leagues. Please contact Penny Barratt on twltc@twltc.plus.com for further details.
Other social tennis events are held regularly throughout the year and for details please check regularly on the site’s Social page/Events Calendar.
Grass court play starts in May generally from 11.00am until dark.
Hardcourt play is from 8:00am until dark.
Floodlights are available on courts 1 to 7 and 11-13. During social mix–ins lights are paid for by the Club. If you wish to use them on an individual basis, the cost is £6 per hour. They work on a token system. Tokens can be obtained from the Club Office or from the bar. Please do not leave it until the night you wish to play to obtain tokens as the office/bar may not be open. Some of the lights have a warning light that flashes to tell you that there is five minutes playing time left. If you wish to play on put the next token in whilst the light is flashing. If you fail to do this and the lights go out, they will take 15 minutes to come back on. Floodlight play finishes at 9.30pm.
